I contacted Celebrating Disability to deliver an interactive learning session as part of our ‘Global Learning Agenda’. Inclusive practices are an integral part of any employment conversation, particularly as we grow, and sharing opportunities to discuss disability with our employees is a key part of this practice. Celebrating Disability are leaders within their field, delivering engaging content that is built from their own lived experience. This lived experience allowed our employees to relate to the content, creating an incredibly impactful session. The session has helped educate managers to lead their teams in a truly inclusive way. As a people team, we have since contacted an external service provider to help better support employees who require additional assistance in managing neurodiverse needs. Disability in the workplace is an ever-evolving topic, however, Esi and the Celebrating Disability team have helped us shape our business to reflect the needs of our employees. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Esi’s talk was fantastic. Esi articulated and explained exactly how business could and should become an ally to people living with a disability. As a business on a disability inclusion journey, we walked away with more knowledge, tips and ideas on how we can encourage inclusion internally and externally. Esi is a really engaging speaker who brings to life how to think differently about disability inclusion – empowering both disabled colleagues and allies to leverage the strengths of disabled colleagues whilst being cognisant of the barriers that may inadvertently be placed in their way. Esi engages the group very well – allowing colleagues to share their own perceptions and then sharing her own insight into how to break through any barriers.
