What’s in the Launchpad Series?

Each of the 13 sessions in the Launchpad Series covers a key topic in disability inclusion — from inclusive language to accessible events. We create space for reflection, honest conversations, and practical takeaways — because real inclusion comes from confidence, not checklists.

1

The Social Model of Disability

Many people still think disability is about someone’s medical condition. This session introduces the social model, showing how social barriers disable people and what we can do about them.
2

Inclusive Language

“I don’t know what to say—I just want to get it right.” If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. This module breaks down the fear of saying the wrong thing and gives you the tools to speak with confidence and respect.
3

Reasonable Adjustments

People often ask, “What does a reasonable adjustment actually look like?” This session clarifies your responsibilities and offers real-world examples to help you confidently support disabled colleagues.
4

Disability Disclosure

“I want people to feel safe telling us what they need.” This session explores how to create a workplace culture that encourages open conversations, without putting pressure on anyone to share more than they want to.
5

Business as Usual Inclusion

Inclusion isn’t something to ‘add on.’ It should be part of everyday business. This session helps you weave inclusive practice into day-to-day decisions, so it becomes second nature.
6

Inclusive Recruitment

“We want to be more inclusive when we hire, but don’t know where to start.” This module offers practical steps to make recruitment accessible, from job adverts to onboarding.
7

Unravelling Discrimination

“I don’t think we’re doing anything wrong—but are we missing something?” This session helps uncover the hidden barriers and everyday assumptions that can unintentionally exclude disabled people.
8

Neurodiversity at Work

“We want to support neurodivergent colleagues but don’t want to assume.” This session explores the variety of experiences under the neurodiversity umbrella and shows how flexibility benefits everyone.
9

Mental Health and Wellbeing

“We talk about mental health, but I’m not sure how to really support people.” This module provides practical ways to promote well-being, challenge stigma, and create psychologically safe environments.
10

Business and Legal Case

“Why should disability inclusion be a priority?” This session breaks down the legal obligations and shows the clear business benefits, like employee engagement, reputation, and talent retention.
11

Inclusive Events

“We didn’t realise our events weren’t accessible until someone said something.” This session helps you think ahead and design meetings and events where everyone feels welcome and included.
12

Great Customer Experience

“We want to serve disabled customers better, but we don’t want to offend anyone.” This module shows how to remove barriers and offer excellent service without awkwardness or assumptions.
13

Disability History

“Why are we only talking about this now?” This session explores the long, often ignored history of disability rights and how understanding the past helps us build a more inclusive future. Are you looking for an event for Disability History Month? This would be perfect!
